Skyscanner has published an affordability ranking for 2026 World Cup host cities, giving fans a clearer look at where travel budgets may stretch the furthest during the tournament. The ranking analyzed average flight and hotel prices across this year’s host cities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The 2026 World Cup features 104 matches across 16 host cities, with the tournament running from June 11 through July 19, 2026.

Skyscanner’s findings place Guadalajara, Mexico, at No. 1 overall, with an estimated three-night trip cost of $856 per person. The most affordable U.S. host city is the San Francisco Bay Area, which ranked No. 3 overall at $1,045 per person. Los Angeles ranked No. 6 overall and third among U.S. host cities, with an estimated trip cost of $1,272 per person.

Skyscanner Ranked Host Cities By Flight And Hotel Costs

Skyscanner calculated the ranking by reviewing average daily one-way flight prices and average nightly hotel prices across May, June, July, and August 2026. The company said it used June and July prices to estimate tournament trip costs, while May and August served as the baseline for comparison. The estimated trip cost reflects three hotel nights plus a round-trip flight based on two one-way fares, according to Skyscanner’s published methodology.

The ranking puts Mexico in a strong position for affordability. Guadalajara leads the list at $856 per person, followed by Monterrey at $926 and Mexico City at $1,189. Skyscanner’s data show that all three of Mexico’s host cities ranked among the top five most affordable options.

Los Angeles Ranked Ahead Of Several Major U.S. World Cup Cities

In the United States, the San Francisco Bay Area ranked as the lowest-cost host destination on Skyscanner’s list, with an estimated trip cost of $1,045 per person. Houston followed closely at $1,056. Los Angeles ranked sixth overall at $1,272, with an average one-way flight price of $162 and an average nightly hotel rate of $316. The Los Angeles placement stands out as the city ranked ahead of Dallas, Kansas City, Philadelphia, and Atlanta in overall affordability.

Dallas ranked seventh at $1,290 per person, while Kansas City ranked eighth at $1,396 per person. Philadelphia placed ninth at $1,460, and Atlanta finished tenth at $1,554. Skyscanner’s data shows that hotel costs played a major role in the ranking. Atlanta had an average nightly hotel rate of $414 during the tournament period, the highest hotel figure among the top 10 cities.

Los Angeles had lower average hotel pricing than Dallas, Kansas City, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, helping it land higher than some travelers may expect. Travelers should treat the ranking as a planning guide rather than a fixed booking price. Skyscanner noted that live fares and hotel rates can change based on availability, travel dates, booking windows, and demand.
